It’s the first electric vehicle that can create its own electricity. The Volt’s state of the art liquid-cooled battery is backed up by an onboard 1.4L generator that can charge the battery while driving to extend Volt’s range to more than 300 miles. Here’s how it works: plug it into a standard 230V outlet, let it charge for up to three hours, and then it’s ready for up to 37 emission-free miles. After that, the Volt – and more importantly you - can keep on going thanks to the range-extending generator.
